About the Workshop
Webinar presented on March 23, 2023 at 4:30pm Eastern time (UTC-4)
Presented by: Dr. Michael Reid, astronomy professor at the University of Toronto and science communicator
A popular environmental slogan declares "There is no Planet B". From a practical perspective, this is certainly true: Earth is the only home for humanity for the foreseeable future. And yet, we now know of thousands of planets orbiting other stars. How many of them might be similar enough to Earth to support life? And would does life look similar to what we know on Earth or might it be very different? How much can we know about planets that are so far away? Through this presentation, we’ll examine how far we've come in the search for another Earth.Â
Do your students have questions about the possibility of alien life or habitable planets? Join us for this webinar to get the latest on this line of research, including updates from the James Webb Space Telescope!Â
