About the Workshop
Training presented on February 5, 2026 at 7:00 pm Eastern Standard Time (Toronto time)
Duration: 1 hour
Presented by: CJ Woodford
Zooniverse is an online citizen science platform where students can contribute to real scientific research by working with real astronomy data —without needing specialized science training! Astronomers use this platform to break down their research questions into smaller tasks that you and your students complete online. There are currently more than 70 researcher-led science projects on Zooniverse that you can take part in! Students might help classify galaxies, explore imaging from telescopes, or help analyse observations.
This training session explores how you can get your students to engage directly with real astronomy research data. Zooniverse is free, curriculum-friendly, and builds STEAM skills by giving learners hands-on experience in science.
Our presenter CJ is a certified Zooniverse Educator Ambassador, trained to support educators in integrating research projects into classrooms.
Registered participants can join the live presentation and will be sent a recording and related resources afterward by email.
