About the Workshop

Join a dynamic team of astrophysicists and astronomy educators to discover engaging educational resources and explore the latest research across a range of topics. You’ll leave the workshop with ready-to-use classroom activities and a renewed sense of cosmic inspiration!

This free workshop is open to all teachers and professionals working in the formal education system, with a special focus on secondary school educators. New this year: we are able to help schools and school boards cover the costs of substitute teachers so that you can attend this training! Information on how to submit for funding will be sent in the registration confirmation email.

Detailed schedule and precise location will be emailed to registrants.

Good to know:

  • Morning coffee and lunch are provided (free). Please let us know about any dietary restrictions in the registration form.

  • Space is limited! We ask that you register only if you’re committed to attending. If your plans change, please let us know so we can offer your spot to someone else.

  • This event is designed for teachers and other school professionals. If that’s not you, but you’d love to attend, you can email julie@discovertheuniverse.ca to be considered if space allows.

We can’t wait to learn and explore the universe with you!

Workshop offered in partnership with the Dunlap Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics.

Registration deadline: March 31, 2026 at 7pm EDT.
