Webinar: Measure the Earth with your Students
Recreate the famous experiment from Eratosthenes!
Presented on September 11, 2019, by Julie Bolduc-Duval
Over 2200 years ago, the Greek mathematician Eratosthenes found an ingenious way to measure the circumference of the Earth with amazing accuracy. On September 23, the day of the fall equinox in the Northern hemisphere, we invite you to recreate his experiment with your students. It’s a great multidisciplinary project involving math, geography, astronomy, and history! You can also participate in the international Eratosthenes Experiment and match your data with other schools from around the world.
The webinar is now archived which means the documents and recording are accessible to everyone once logged in.
