On Site: Full-Day Astronomy Workshop in Montreal

We are pleased to be partnering with the Canadian Astronomical Society (CASCA) again, to provide a full-day astronomy workshop for teachers and informal educators during the CASCA 2019 annual conference. Following past years in Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Victoria, this year’s workshop will be in Montreal! This workshop is not offered online.

NOTE: This workshop will be presented primarily in French. Some presentations will be in English and bilingual presenters will be available to answer questions. Email communications will be in French.

What?
The workshop will include:

  • short talks by scientists about current research (exoplanets, black holes, Canadian contributions…)
  • activities and resources to use with groups;
  • time for questions and discussion with astronomy researchers and education specialists; and
  • a chance to be part of this annual science conference.

Who? Open to secondary and CEGEP teachers, education professionals such as educational consultants, as well as informal science educators. 

How much? It’s free! Lunch and refreshments are included.

When? Wednesday, June 19, 2019,  9am to 4:15pm (draft schedule here – in French only)

Where? Centre Mont-Royal (room Mansfield #5), 2200 rue Mansfield, Montreal
