Webinar: Looking for Other Worlds
Discover the planets beyond our Solar System!
Over the last few years, we have discovered thousands of new worlds: planets orbiting other stars, also known as exoplanets. What do we know about these planets? How close are we to being able to detect if there’s life on them? How do we know they exist when we can’t see them directly? Join us for this special webinar with our guest speaker Dr. Jason Rowe.
Jason is a professor at Bishop’s University in Quebec. A young leader in the field of exoplanet research, he previously worked for the Kepler Mission, a breakthrough telescope which discovered over 75% of all exoplanets so far. Jason is also an excellent communicator and his previous webinar with us in 2013 was a big success.
NOTE: This special webinar is offered to students directly. Teachers can register to watch it live with their class and ask their students’ questions through the chat. The recording will be available for those who can’t participate live. Welcome to classes across Canada, and beyond!
