Workshop for Secondary School Teachers in Victoria
Full-day workshop presented during the annual conference of the Canadian Astronomical Society
Discover the Universe is pleased to collaborate with the Canadian Astronomical Society (CASCA) and the Canada-France Hawaii Telescope to offer a full-day astronomy workshop during the annual meeting of CASCA in Victoria, BC.
The workshop will include:
- activities and resources to use in class;
- talks by scientists about current research;
- time for questions and discussion with astronomy researchers and education specialists.
- and a chance to be part of this annual science conference.
Who? All secondary school teachers in the Victoria region. We also invite other education professionals such as science advisors and informal educators involved in astronomy education. If you are an elementary school teacher, check out our other workshop.
How much? It’s free! Lunch and coffee breaks will be provided.
When? Thursday May 24, 2018. The workshop will follow the same schedule as the CASCA conference and will start at 8:30am. All breaks will be taken with all other conference delegates so teachers will get the chance to view science posters and interact with scientists. The final (optional) session will be from 4pm-5:30pm.
Where? Victoria Conference Centre, Victoria, BC. Please note this workshop is not offered online.
