Workshop for informal educators - Summer 2017

June 19 to July 7, 2017

Description

Do you work with youth groups in an informal education setting such as parks, summer camps or a nature interpretation centres? Would you like to become more familiar with the sky in order to organize more astronomy activities with your group?

Then this workshop is for you!

Our online workshop for informal educators, now in its 7th edition, will be offered from June 19 to July 7, 2017. There will be a weekly 1-hr webinar (online presentation) and we will suggest activities for you to do on your own time. The webinars will be on Wednesdays at 2 pm (eastern) but they are always recorded for those you cannot join us live. You can therefore easily fit this workshop in your busy schedule!

At the end of this workshop, you will:

  • be able to recognize the summer constellations in the sky.
  • know how to use a star finder and a planetarium software like Stellarium.
  • be more familiar with many astronomy concepts.
  • have discovered many activities to easily include astronomy in your programming.
  • feel more confident sharing the wonders of the sky with your audience.
  • and more!
